You can't please everyone! So much the better!
Do you know the Beldi Country Club in Marrakech? The Hôtel Sacacomie in Quebec? The Hôtel Costes in Paris? The Barn Hotel in Rambouillet? These hotels share something unique, inexplicable and intangible. They have "a soul". Nobody knows how to get one, and every hotel would like to have one. It's like elegance: it comes naturally. These places exude a natural elegance. And the more they mature thanks to their teams, the better they get. The charm works.
Historic hotels such as the Ritz in Paris (and so many others), those institutions people visit like museums, have that soul anyway, so steeped, lived-in and embodied are these places. This is surely due to the elegance of their builders, visionaries, creators and risk-takers. Of course it also works because the teams are in tune with that vision. Choosing your teams according to your values is so important. And the clients, by choosing one hotel over another, complete the picture.
A hotel remains a hotel, even if we often say otherwise when welcoming a guest!! A hotel is not "just like home", and just like your home, you don't want to please everyone!
